SLT have a secure understanding of how P.E. Lead is delivering PE sessions and how pupils are developing their skills and understanding in PE.

Methods of evidencing PE to be reviewed and developed by SLT and PE lead. 

Gym inductions to be carried out for all staff to enable them to safely run gym sessions with pupils. 

Headteacher completed inductions with staff allowing them to safely run induction sessions and future gym sessions with pupils. All pupils using the gym had consent from home and an initial induction session.

PE lead to complete audit of resources at the beginning of the year and use scheme resources equipment list to identify need for any further equipment.


Pupil voices will also form part of the ongoing review cycle.

Break and lunch time spaces to be improved to allow for greater quality of regular physical activity 

Areas around the school included the ‘Games room’ and the ‘Lair’ spaces to be updated to allow for other opportunities for physical activity and to improve engagement of regular physical activity.

More pupils have been able to take part in regular physical activity suiting their needs and or preferences which has also benefited their SEMH.

Raise profile of sport and sportspersonship and sporting values in school

Sports Ambassadors are to be appointed and take part in various activities to promote PE and sport across the school.

Sports ambassadors supported younger children in PE sessions and personal development sessions, modelling both sports skills as well as positive attitudes and behaviour, serving as role models.


Sports ambassadors, with advocate support, chose and delivered ‘Sports Star’ of the week to celebrate sporting skills and school values. 



This will continue next year with new ambassadors being chosen. 

Raise the profile of different sports and share the stories of different athletes which model our school values.

Sports Display boards and class PPTs to change termly and highlight school and sporting values as well as lesser known sports to develop pupils’ wider engagement and interest.

Northampton Saints Northampton Saints community team to come into school and run both ‘Day of Rugby’ and ‘Tackling Character’ sessions.

PD football sessions opened to wider variety of year groups with older children supporting with coaching and modelling of key skills and positive behaviours and attitudes. Other PD sessions including table tennis were including the weekly sessions. 


Boccia, pickle ball and other new sports have been introduced to all for all children to access a wider range of sports. 


This has helped to develop confidence in and enjoyment of PE as well as supporting the physical and SEMH development of our pupils. 

Continue to offer a wide range of sporting activities and activities. The opportunities on offer will be reviewed by PE lead. 


Pupil voices to be undertaken to better understand what other opportunities pupils would like to take part in. 

Opening of the school gym to all pupils to access a wider range of fitness and sporting opportunities.
